About Us

Hi, my name is Denis Alarie, and I'm the founder and CEO of 4RP.

With hindsight, 99% of issues are preventable. They are a part of life but should not be considered inevitable. 4rp was developed to improve corporate operations in all of its aspects .

I registered 4RP as an enterprise in January 2012. In February I approached Roland Tanner of TannerRitchie to develop the website to provide 4RP services at large. 4RP resulted from some 30 years of progressive construction experience.

4RP websites were developed from a working prototype which drove excel workbooks Roland Tanner and I agreed internet delivery would be the most effective from a user's point of view and would be easier to manage than standalone deployment. Internet deployment means availability at all times, anywhere. The focus of 4RP can be applied to four specific areas: Safety, Audits, Training, and Quality. The first priority was to develop a safety website soon followed by the others. The ability to focus in on different issues on a prioritized basis in small doses allows for the control of much larger sets of information by improving direct communication and retention on the one hand and on the other hand sending out the global message that all issues are subject to specific attention.

I graduated from Queens in 1977, with a first class honors degree in Civil Engineering. After graduation, I spent 1.5 years for Placer Development out of Williams Lake BC. In 1979 I joined Leo Alarie and Sons Limited (LAS) as a project engineer. LAS specialized in road building, bridges, crushing, and earthmoving. As we diversified into concrete and structural work, I gained valuable operating experience and a strong background in heavy construction. For the next 9 years, I was given progressively more responsibility and was asked to assume the role of President in 1987.

From 1987 to 2007, I managed LAS. In 2007, the assets of LAS were bought out by Aecon Group Inc. (Aecon). A new company called Leo Alarie and Sons Construction Ltd (LASCL) was formed to continue the business. The business continued under the banner of LASCL. LASCL operated as a wholly owned subsidiary of Aecon. I stayed on as manager of LASCL until April 13 2012.

After I retired from construction in April 2012 I was able to devote more time to 4RP.
